A grateful Grandmother sent in this written note to the Dance to Live movement therapist (click the image to the right to see a bigger version). It is with pleasure that, in memory of Michelle, Dance to Live provides to children an active and joyful experience.
“We had a family that stayed with us for quite some time last fall. Their 11 year old boy was going through kidney failure and was here receiving dialysis. When I joined them in the Dance to Live session, I couldn't believe my eyes. They were laughing and dancing! They were dressed up like butterflies waving their wings (arms) in the air flying. I knew that they were able to forget about their worries at the hospital and enjoy being in their own imaginary world."
“Jonathan’s Place is an emergency shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children. The dance therapist leads the children in musical movement activities that encourage listening, moving, stretching and rhythm. Color, shape, animal, number and letter recognition and reinforcement are integrated into the curriculum making their dance hour a concentrated preschool time which is extremely valuable for our children, many of whom are developmentally delayed.”
"As you might imagine the transition period for kids removed from their families can be very difficult. Your support is critical because it shows them that people do care about them and want them to be safe and happy at a pivotal point in their lives…..So please know you are making a difference in the lives of these children – now and for the rest of their lives. And for that, we cannot thank you enough."
"Women and children walk away from violence and ensure that their children are safe, even if doing so means having to break the silence and reach out for support….they will make a new beginning for their lives. They will start over and they will find safety.
Your donations certainly make a difference in the lives of so many women and children and we are grateful."
"Yoga Ed has promoted a sense of excitement about exercise, stretching and relaxation.
Our students return from yoga class feeling refreshed and enthusiastic.
We LOVE Yoga Ed!"
